Grupo ADI acquired a majority stake of WET
Grupo ADI, a multinational company and manufacturer and distributor of specialty chemicals, acquired a majority stake of World Elastomers Trade (WET), a company with over 25 years of experience in antifoaming agents, rubber, films, paper, and cardboard.
Grupo ADI started operating in 1997 and is formed by a set of companies whose headquarters are in Spain. It also has a commercial presence in Algeria, Brazil, China, Egypt, France, India, Morocco and Portugal. Its main activity is the distribution of chemical products to various different industries. In addition, Grupo ADI exports to countries worldwide through third-party distributors.
WET has been trading specialty chemicals for the industry since 1996, providing innovation and service to their customers in the antifoam, rubber, films, paper and cardboard sectors.
This acquisition represents a key step in the group’s expansion strategy, aiming to increase its revenue by more than EUR 20 million and consolidate its leadership in the Spanish market.
The acquisition of WET will strengthen the group’s product offerings and complement its existing business lines. With its valuable contributions in terms of know-how, technical expertise, and specialised team, this acquisition will create new business opportunities and enhance Grupo ADI‘s competitiveness, reinforcing its position in the market. Furthermore, this integration will enable Grupo ADI to increase its international operations, particularly in Latin America, where WET already has a presence.
